Rubidium Mod Forge Compatibility Explained

Rubidium is a Forge-focused rendering optimization mod. The safest setup approach is to match every component to the same Minecraft version and make changes in a controlled order.

Key steps

  1. Match Minecraft, Forge and Rubidium versions exactly.
  2. Do not combine Rubidium with OptiFine.
  3. Check every rendering-related mod for known compatibility notes.
  4. Use a clean test instance when diagnosing conflicts.

Compatibility checks

Before launching, verify Minecraft, Forge or NeoForge where applicable, Rubidium and any shader or rendering add-ons. The Rubidium project explicitly states that OptiFine is not compatible.

Practical test method

Launch a clean profile first. If it works, add resource packs, shaders and other mods in small groups. This makes it much easier to identify the component that introduces a crash or visual problem.
